Robert Engel sells and rents most major brands of used pianos from his A Street warehouse, which is across Ruby Street from his retail Yamaha piano store. He donates pianos to the Castro Valley Performing Arts Center and loans new pianos to Castro Valley schools. He's been in business in this location since 1968. Olga Persits and her staff have been teaching piano to students of all ages in her Boulevard studio since 1990. There are two pianos in the studio and lots of natural light. Olga has a master's degree in piano teaching from the Moscow State Institute of Music and Pedagogy. She fosters a low-key, non-competitive atmosphere among her students and encourages them to enter recitals and to take part in evaluation programs through the Music Teachers Association of California.
