Our doors were opened in 1967 by Loren Allen, a husband & father of 9, who enjoyed the scrap business. Grand Valley Auto Parts, Inc has been a family owned and operated business ever since. Lorens middle son Brian Allen was 13 when his dad started the business, I remember back then you could buy a vintage 61 Ford Galaxy for only 25 bucks. And not cause there was anything wrong with it, they just wanted it out of their driveway. Brian said. He took an extra interest in the business and 25 years after the doors were opened he took on the ownership role in 1992. Brian, a father of 4 has taken the business to another level, with a lot of help from his dad of course, who continued to work there for quite a few years. 2 of Brians children are currently employed at Grand Valley Auto Parts. Jennifer started in high school taking inventory and delivering parts through co-op. She has now put in 9 years doing the books, after taking over for Brians wife, Lynne Allen. Their only son Mitch worked part-time during his college years at Northwestern Ohio University. Since then he has been learning the ropes of buying and inventorying vehicles. Brians sister Kathy is also employed as the receptionist and has put in 9+ years. His brother-in-law Randy pulls parts, and the rest of the employees at Grand Valley are good friends of the Allen family. It is exciting that Grand Valley Auto Parts has been around for 40+ years and even better that we get to kick off the next 40 in our new highly efficient building.
