Recognized as America's most photographed plantation, Boone Hall is still an active plantation producing strawberries, pumpkins and tomatoes. It is currently owned and operated by members of the McRae family, who are committed to providing a 1800s plantation atmosphere for visitors. Admission includes the "Exploring Gullah Culture" performance, butterfly pavilion and plantation house tour.
Coastal Expeditions offers half-, full- and multi-day kayaking tours, rentals, sales and instruction. You can explore a variety of ecosystems from coastal barrier islands and salt-marsh creeks to cypress-tupelo swamps and historic rice fields. All guides are trained professionals and naturalists. A passenger ferry service is provided to Bull Island in the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. It also offers a kids' camp for kayaking instruction and short trips close to shore.
