The Museum of Fine Arts has been operational for more than 100 years. Located in Houston, it is one of the oldest art museums in the world. Formerly known as the Houston Public School Art League, the museum s facilities include the Caroline Wiess Law Building, Audrey Jones Beck Block, Glassell School of Art, Studio School for Adults, and the Glassell Junior School. It organizes exhibitions for decorative arts in its Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, Rienzi and Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden facility. Spread on more than 20-acres of land, the museum has an over 300,000-square-foot art display unit and Hirsch Library. It serves more than 700,000 people through its community outreach programs, and displays various civilizations, including Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Africa. The Museum of Fine Arts also offers Italian Renaissance paintings, French Impressionist works, photographs, American and European decorative arts and painting, African and preColumbian gold, and sculptures from post-1945.
