Both master gardeners and aspiring green thumbs sow their seeds at Naperville Garden Plots. More than 400 people plant and tend to gardens each year. In 2010, there were 495 plots for rent. Church groups, families and individuals plant a wide variety of crops, from tomatoes to watermelons, pumpkins to peas. Residents and non-residents have the option of renting a plot for a nominal fee. The growing season begins in April and ends in October.
The City of Naperville's Transportation, Engineering, Development and Planning Department (commonly referred to as TED) is the department residents need to contact when they are planning a renovation and require a permit. The department also deals with construction projects and code enforcement.
