The Salvation Army has been providing support and comfort to the needy in Loudoun County since the 1980s, but has been located at its current Leesburg address since 2005.
In addition to a thrift store where patrons can find a variety of donated items ranging from luggage, clothes, household items and furniture to music and movies and memorabilia, the Salvation Army offers aid to needy families at back-to-school time and Christmas. It has also offered a free Thanksgiving dinner in years past, with food donated by local restaurants.
The Salvation Army is always looking for volunteers to help out in the thrift store and those interested can call to inquire about opportunities to help out.
