Sesame Workshop, formerly known as Children s Television Workshop, is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of educational content through television, interactive media, radio, books and magazines, as well as community outreach programs. The organization has operations worldwide, including the United States, Bangladesh, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Russia and South Africa. Sesame Workshop s Sesame Street programs serve children in more than 140 countries. It produces educational programs, such as Dragon Tales and Pinky Dinky Doo. The organization provides literacy services to over 10 million children every week in the U.S. Sesame Workshop s subsidiary, Sesame Workshop India, coordinates the Galli Galli Sim Sim outreach program for low-income and low-literacy communities.
