Virginia Surgery Associates was founded by Russell P. Seneca MD, FACS, FCM in 1978. Since that time VSAs General Surgeons have provided State of the Art surgical care for our patients with offices located in, ( Hinson Farm Road near Mount Vernon Hospital ), Alexandria ( Kenmore Avenue near Alexandria Hospital ) and Lorton-Market Place. VSA is regarded as one of the premier general surgery practices serving,, and INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital.In addition to offering the complete spectrum of general surgery and lapraroscopic procedures for our patients ; our surgeons specialize in the surgical care of breast disease, thyroid and parathyroid diseases, benign and malignant intestinal disorders and trauma. Recent additions to our services include ultrasound capability to further enhance our comprehensive surgical breast program and aesthetic laser capability for the cosmetic treatment of benign skin lesions.Our surgeons and staff are committed to our patients, take pride in the work we do and welcome you to our practice.Our appointment schedulers be reached by calling 703-359-8640 and selecting option # 3. They will be happy to assist you in scheduling your appointment with our doctors at one of our three convenient locations. Our schedulers will ask you some basic questions during the appointment process. You will need to bring a picture ID, insurance card ( s ), and referral ( if applicable ). You will also need to hand carry any films or tests you have had performed related to the reason for you visit to your appointment. It has been our experience that facilities will not send them for you. This is very important, as a review of your studies will help the surgeon in his assessment of your condition. Additionally, NEW patients need to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment to complete the necessary paperwork. You may complete the forms on line, print and fax them to the secure fax 703-591-6105.Our Clinical Team is here to assist you. Once you and your doctor have decided to move forward with surgery, you will receive a surgery information packet explaining the surgical process. A member of our clinical team will review the packet with you at the time of your visit to assist you in understanding the surgical scheduling process and requirements. Our clinical team and surgery schedulers will work together to assist you throughout the surgical process.Our Medical Record Personnel will gladly help you with request ( s ) for forms completion and copies of your record. There is an administration fee of $30.00 for forms completion. Please call 703-359-8640 and select option #6 for more information. Please be aware it takes approximately seven days to process your request.Our Billing Specialists are available to answer any of your billing questions. The practice participates with most major health plans and will submit claims on your behalf for all insurances. All co-pays are due at the time of your visit.
