Montana Highway Patrol is a public safety agency that safeguards the lives and property of people using the highway traffic system of Montana through education, service and enforcement. It maintains the safety of Montanas highways and enforces traffic laws, including failure to use seatbelts, speeding and other dangerous driving violations. With a location in Missoula, Mont., Montana Highway Patrol employs a staff of more than 200 full-time troopers. The agency conducts public safety education presentations on various subjects related to driving safety, including seatbelt usage, driving under the influence and child safety. In addition, Montana Highway Patrol responds to over 70,000 calls for service and issue nearly 85,000 arrest and approximately 100,000 warning tickets.
