Established in 1949, the Port of Beaumont is one of the largest military ports in the United States. It is a deepwater port located in close proximity to the Neches River in Texas. The port handles more than 3 million tons of commodities each year, including bulk, break bulk and military cargo. The Port of Beaumont covers an area of over 150 square miles that includes dock facilities, bulk cargo terminals and shipping centers. It serves freight forwarders, customhouse brokers, stevedores, chandlers, ship repair facilities and maritime shipping firms. The Port of Beaumont also handles cargo shipped in support of the Operation Iraqi Freedom. The port is located in Beaumont, Texas.
