The Virginia Tourism Corporation, also known as the Virginia Tourism Authority, serves the recreational needs of clients. It operates various Welcome Centers throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. The corporation supports, maintains and expands the motion picture production industries, as well as domestic and international inbound tourism. It operates the advertising, electronic marketing, public relations, and administration and finance divisions. The corporation s consumer services division oversees the fulfillment and distribution of more than 650,000 Virginia travel guides annually. It also administers the State-Certified Visitor Center program. The Virginia Tourism Corporation plans, implements and measures several marketing initiatives for third-party sellers, including tour operators, media, receptive tour operators, and meeting and convention planners.
