Harper College Fitness Center is located in the Sports Center on Harper College campus (downstairs in Building M). Harper Fitness Center features free weights, cardio machines and Nautilus equipment. Borne2Dance is a music and dance center offering dance classes in a variety of different styles, including ballet, modern, tap, jazz, hip hop and salsa. Music classes are available for guitar, bass and drums. Borne2Dance offers instruction to students of all ages.
Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs (ISKC) is a karate school offering classes for all ages in karate instruction. Karate classes at ISKC help students focus on fitness, self defense and stress relief. Illinois Shotokan Karate Clubs is located on North Eric Drive in Palatine, north of West Colfax Street.
Golf Nation is a fitness facility offering golf lessons and clinics, social events and workout areas. Golf Nation features indoor sand traps, putting greens and drill areas. The facilty also offers personal training opportunities and personal fitness classes.
Bonnie Lindholm School of The Dance is a dance school for children and adults offering instruction in various dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary. Bonnie Lindholm School offers seasonal workshops and fitness classes, and is located on South Plum Grove Road, north of Euclid Avenue.
Family Aquatic Center is located east of the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater. It features a pool, a separate pool for children and water slides. A play area and concessions are also available.
Studio Viva offers a host of dance classes, including salsa, merengue, ballroom and swing, as well as other regional styles like Argentine tango and belly-dancing. Founder and owner Dora Baroti has decades of dance experience, and welcomes dancers for group and private dancing. Studio Viva is located on Northwest Highway in the Palatine Centre Plaza.
W. Kim Tae Kwon Do has been offering tae kwon do classes to the community since 2002. Specializing in tae kwon do and hapkido, it offers classes and also participates in competitions. W. Kim Tae Kwon Do welcomes both beginners and experts, it has classes for everyone.
US Fitness Service repairs and maintains home and commercial fitness equipment for clients in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Services include replacing parts, installing equipment and refurbishing older models of equipment like elliptical machines, treadmills and fitness bicycles.
HealthQuest Fitness is a complete health club featuring cardio equipment, free weights, body scuplting machines and fitness rooms. It provides personal training, fitness assessment and group classes, including yoga, zumba and spinning. HealthQuest Fitness does not require yearly contracts for membership.
Community Park and the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater are located near downtown. The amphitheater is on the south side of the 15.3-acre park near Palatine Road. Wood Street borders the north side of the park.
The amphitheater is the site of concerts, movies and cultural events throughout the summer (see the park website for a schedule). Community Park also includes outdoor basketball courts, playgrounds, a skating park, sheltered picnic areas, baseball and softball fields, and football and soccer fields.
Birchwood Recreation Center's outdoor facilities include baseball fields and softball fields, tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, soccer and football fields and a picnic area. One of Birchwood's biggest attractions is its pool, which includes diving boards and a water slide.
Birchwood is 11.5 acres and has Palatine trail access. Various indoor programs and classes are offered in the facility's indoor gym. Birchwood also offers preschool.
The Palatine Senior Citizens Center, serving over 70 communities in the North and Northwest Suburbs, has been at this Quentin Rd. location since 1998. Although most patrons reside in Palatine and the surrounding area, there are no residency restrictions or membership requirements; anyone 50 years of age or older is welcome to use the facility. This center offers conveniences such as drop-in lunch, home-delivered meals, a food pantry, recreation center and a day-care program for adults with memory loss. A multilingual Social Services staff, fluent in Spanish, Russian and Polish, is available to assist seniors through issues such as immigration problems or health-care coverage complications. Activities include conversation clubs that create a comfortable environment for adults to practice their English, computer classes that teach participants basic skills and local and extended trips that give seniors a chance to travel to various locations.
Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center offers a variety of yoga and meditation classes for children and adults. Himalayan Yoga features Hatha yoga for different levels, personalized meditation sessions and yoga consultations. Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center is located on West Slade Road at Brockway Street.
Midtown Athletic Club is a family fitness facility. Midtown offers indoor and outdoor swimming, group exercise classes, racquet sports, yoga and Pilates, strength training, children's programs, personal training, youth and adult social activities, on-site cafe, and spa amenities.
For more than 40 years golfers have been enjoying this quiet picturesque respite. In addition to an 18-hold golf course, there's a putting green, driving range, pro shop and restaurant. Children's classes and private instruction make this a great family-friendly spot where everyone can hone their golf skills.
The Falcon Park Recreation Center, which opened in January 2010, includes an indoor turf field that can be used for soccer, indoor basketball and volleyball courts, and a running track. The center also provides rooms for various classes that can also be rented for private events and parties.
