We Do Not provide In-Home therapy. Advanced Physical Therapy specializes in the care and treatment of athletes at any level (Youth, High School, College, Recreational and Professional). Each clinic is staffed with highly qualified professionals including Licensed Physical Therapists, Certified Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapist Assistants educated in functionally based exercises as well as agility and coordination drills necessary to progress an athlete from injury through return to play. At Advanced Physical Therapy, we encounter seniors daily in the clinical setting. Based on our exposure to senior, we are able to play a role in fall prevention. Patients are assessed for strength, balance, gait abnormalities, functional elements and footwear. Studies show that approximately 5% of falls by older adults result in a fracture…25% of patients over the age of 65 with hip fractures lose significant function and 50% experience a decrease in mobility. Our program consists of: Evaluation - including self-assessment of general health, blood pressure and heart rate, lower body strength, balance test (utilizing the Biodex Balance Master) and aerobic endurance test. In-clinic and home exercises Re-evaluation - a reports summarizing the effect of the four week program.
