Asheboro City Schools is a community school system that supports a preschool program and an alternative learning center for students who need special settings for learning. In operation for nearly 100 years, it operates an education foundation that provides support to the school system and educational programs, as well as various philanthropic opportunities. The school system has a population of more than 4,500 students and operates over five elementary, middle and high schools. Located in Asheboro, N.C., Asheboro City Schools high and middle schools maintain guidance and counseling departments that provide basic assistance to students regarding scholarships, career planning, and social and mental issues.
