Founded in 1907, Newton Community Service Center is a nonprofit, multiservice organization that strengthens individual, family and community life through a network of support services and educational programs. It offers services for children, teens, young adults, retirees and elders. It also offers home-based programs in child care, pre-literacy training and family guidance. Additionally, it offers school and recreation-based programs in child assault prevention education, summer camp and teen explorers academies. The organization s teen reach program offers services to middle and high school age youth and includes mentoring, counseling, personal development, music, cooking, computers, athletic programs, summer adventure and a social action committee. Located in Newton, Mass., the center s early education and care unit is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
