Founded in 1965, Family Service Rochester is a nonprofit organization that works to support and enhance the quality of life for individuals and families. It provides more than 30 programs to meet a variety of community needs. The organization oversees a staff of more than 85 employees. Family Service Rochester offers relationship and mental health counseling services for individuals, couples and families on several issues, such as depression, loss, stress, substance abuse, grief, parenting, divorce, anxiety and self-esteem. The organization provides supervised and monitored visitation services for children. It administers a range of household maintenance and repair work, including grab bar installation and light carpentry for senior citizens. The organization also delivers meals for people with various disabilities. It collaborates with Olmsted County Child and Family Services to offer a range of child welfare and mental health case management services. Family Service Rochester maintains partnerships with the Rochester Senior Center and the United Way of Olmsted County.
