This is a locally-owned hair salon that has been serving the St. Louis community since 1988. Why The Blonde Flamingo? Owner Carol Abaecherli began collecting flamingoes of all shapes, materials and sizes after her daughter gave her one as a gift. When she opened her salon, she decided to use her cute collection as part of the décor. As Mrs. Abaecherli explains, she went for "blonde flamingo" so that people would not confuse her hair salon with a bar. The Blonde Flamingo has a nice, round waiting area with comfy couches where customers can browse magazines--or a book about flamingoes. Customers can buy hair products such as lotions, sprays, curling irons and brushes. There is also a small selection of facial products.
