Located in the heart of Springdale, Twin Rinks is a year-round center for indoor entertainment, activity and fun. Two perfectly groomed and maintained ice rinks are the crowning glory of this facility, but its programming shines as well. NHL hockey players are among the hockey coaches here, while Olympic gold medalists are on the figure skating coaching roster. Public skating, shinny hockey, figure skating lessons, youth and adult hockey leagues and special events are among the choices for those who are looking for fun on the ice. Skate rentals are available and private parties can be arranged for those celebrating a special occasion. An arcade offers entertainment off the ice, with plenty of games to satisfy gamers of all ages. Stamford Twin Rinks also houses the Springdale Ballet and Dance Academy, offering ballet, hip-hop and jazz dance classes. For fun after the game or for a cozy spot to watch as a spectator, head to the Ice View Sports Bar and Grill - a relaxing place to have a burger without missing out on the action. During skating hours, the Legends Cafe on the first level is open, serving snacks and refreshments. Don't forget to stop by the Skate Zone pro-shop, where you will find all types of gear from hockey sticks to figure skating costumes. For the serious skater, New York Islanders' professional skate sharpener is available for custom skate sharpening. A new addition to the Stamford Twin Rinks is a 2.5 million dollar, 305.76-kilowatt solar electric system, installed in partnership with the CT Clean Energy Fund. This has sparked the interest of the environmentally conscious resulting in facility tours being offered upon appointment.
Terry Conners Ice Rink offers group ice skating lessons for all ages as well as introduction to hockey classes for ages 4 - 7 and a summer camp program. It also hosts public skating sessions and birthday parties on ice. Skate rentals are available.
