Minimatics was founded for the purpose of manufacturing microwave tube components. In the 1980s, Minimatics supplied in excess of 1 million parts per week for disk drives including load beams, flexures and suspension assemblies. Today components are machined for medical, aerospace or telecommunications uses from exotic alloys, composites and polymers. The company has provided service to numerous Silicon Valley firms involved in military aerospace applications as well as private communication satellites. This has required machining parts from special materials such as Cupronickel, Titanium, all grades of stainless steel, aluminum alloys, polyimide (Vespel) and other alloys, polymers, composites. Minimatics has been producing components for microwave tubes for decades with the high precisions, cleanliness and other requirements of this industry. Over the years it has made parts for satellites, doppler radar and high-power traveling wave tubes. Recent projects have involved low expansion alloys such as Kovar for metal to glass seals with applications in lasers coupled to fiber optics. Minimatics is located in Mountain View, Calif.
