As a part of Williamson County in Texas, the Sheriffs Office is responsible for the protection and safety of citizens and visitors. It offers street patrolling, crime investigation and jail maintenance services. The office is also responsible for animal control, law enforcement, legal assistance and maintaining criminal records. It provides various programs that focus on crime prevention, drug education, and safety and security for senior citizens. The Sheriffs Office also responds to 911 and nonemergency calls, as well as offers crisis intervention, mental health care, first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation services. Its narcotics unit is responsible for the investigation and suppression of narcotics activities through surveillance, undercover operations, and information gathering and analysis.
