The Grant County Sheriffs Department is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety and identifies and solves criminal cases. It operates a communication center that responds to emergency and nonemergency law enforcement, fire and medical assistance calls. The Grant County Sheriffs Department also maintains a traffic and patrol division that undertakes cases related to accident investigations, domestic disturbances, suicides, child abuse, and larceny and burglary reports. In addition, the sheriff s department handles issues related to rape, narcotics and miscellaneous crime cases. Its civil process division serves and processes subpoenas, summons, writs, and notices and motions, as well as transports prisoners to the local courts.
