The Otsego County Sheriffs Office is a county police agency that employs a staff of more than 20 sworn full-time officers. It offers services in an area of more than 540 square miles. The office is charged with aiding criminal courts, serving civil processes, executing judgments, and marine and snowmobile law enforcement. The Otsego County Sheriffs Office operates a 34-bed jail that provides detention for convicted prisoners and pretrial detainees. It maintains a records division that manages and processes reports, requests, firearm permits, registrations and documents. The Otsego County Sheriffs Office, located in Gaylord, Mich., also operates a communication center that responds to calls for police, fire and emergency medical assistance.
