Owner Heather Duncan started as an employee shortly after the store opened, worked her way to manager and eventually purchased it in 2004. "I love that the store has become a creative outlet for me as well as a way to interact with the wonderful community of Belmont Shore," she wrote on her website.
Duncan is a dedicated philanthropist, donating a portion of Blue Windows' monthly profits to charities such as Operation School Bell, which provides free school uniforms to children in Long Beach.
