Welcome to DePaul Cristo Rey High School in Cincinnati, scheduled to open our doors to our first class of students in June 2011. The Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, our sponsoring congregation, have named their newest venture in honor of St. Vincent de Paul. His heart and work embraced people with great economic need as the children of God. Vincent inspired the ministry of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, founder of the Sisters of Charity as well as Catholic schools in the U.S. for those who could never have afforded private, faith-based education. We hope to carry on their tradition of service and welcome. We are part of the nationwide Cristo Rey Network, named for Christ the King. Jesus came to welcome us to a new kind of kingdom, never before known by people the Reign of God. In the Reign of God, all are welcome. Each person is the pearl of great price. All are equal, all are complete, all have what they need, all are co-creators with God, using their talents and gifts for the good of one another. We at DePaul Cristo Rey participate in building the Reign of God. With our administrative team now in place, we are preparing every aspect of DePaul Cristo Rey for a dynamically different high school experience for our students. Our Corporate Work Study Program ( CWSP ) is already partnering with over 25 companies to provide jobs and tuition support for student teams. Our academic and co-curricular programs will give our young women and men the demanding and supportive programs they need to be truly college-ready upon graduation. Benefactors are providing the financial support required to launch our school. And our recruitment efforts will continue through the fall and winter. We are reaching out to every student and family who dream of college completion but for whom the required preparation seems out of reach. Our Clifton campus on Central Parkway near Cincinnati State is undergoing major renovation of student and office facilities. We promise to keep you posted throughout the year from demolition to completion as we move toward becoming Cincinnatis first new Catholic high school in over 50 years. Thank you for your support of this very worthy school initiative.
