Since opening in 2004, Mill Creek High School has been recognized four times by Newsweek magazine as one of the top public schools in the nation. Standardized test scores have improved each year and, in 2010, Mill Creek High School graduates earned more than $12.5 million in scholarships, excluding HOPE scholarships and athletic grants.

The Mill Creek campus includes a football stadium (capacity 10,000), track, baseball field, softball field, tennis courts and practice fields. The school colors are cardinal, Vegas gold and navy. The mascot, a red-tailed hawk, is featured prominently in the school lobby in the form of a 12-foot-high bronze sculpture by renowned artist Vic McCollum.
