St. Martin s in the Pines, located in Birmingham, Ala., is a retirement community with a skilled nursing center, an assisted living facility, an Alzheimers disease community and a four-story retirement apartment building. The retirement apartments offer a selection of studios, one- and two-bedrooms, and double studios and suites. All apartments have a kitchen, private balcony and may be decorated to individual tastes. Its assisted living facility is licensed by the State of Alabama Department of Public Health to provide assistance with activities of daily living for persons who do not require 24-hour nursing care. The skilled nursing facility has more than 130 licensed beds and accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private pay. The Evergreen Center treats persons with early to middle stage Alzheimers disease or related memory disorders that do not require skilled nursing care.
