Housed in a small building that was once the oldest operating lobster co-op in the area, Rowayton Seafood Market is spot local residents run to when they want fresh fish to prepare at home, or a freshly prepared seafood treat they can eat inside or outside on the deck, overlooking the scenic Five Mile River. Although Rowayton is no longer the home port for a large commercial fishing fleet, the maritime tradition is alive and well here. And Rowayton seafood offers an ever-changing selection of fresh fish, shellfish and prepared foods, such as fish and chips, lobster rolls and the ever-elusive fried whole belly clams.
The family-owned Steve's Market offers Greek speciality food with a wide range of imported cheeses such as Feta. There are also olives, olive oils and pastries. The Market also has Italian and American products such as pasta and Gatorade.
