Founded in 1986, Nijiya Market specializes in Japanese gourmet. The company initially offered Japanese groceries and other ingredients to the local community and has become one of the leading retailers of deli products, grocery supplies and farm produce in the United States. Its merchandising department also offers Nijiya branded packaged rice and cultivates organic seeds and produce. In addition to traditional Japanese cuisine and fresh fruits and vegetables, the company provides a range of bakery products, such as sweet and soymilk bread, cakes, pastries, cookies and muffins. Nijiya Market operates more than 10 stores, including one in City of Industry, Calif.
