Established in 1977, Bellevue West High School is a four-year public secondary school located in Bellevue, Neb. It is a part of the Bellevue Public Schools and offers courses in a wide range of subjects, such as language arts, math, social studies, science and health. It provides elective programs in subjects, such as world language, chorus, video journalism, concert band, stagecraft, aerospace science, industrial and information technology and family and consumer. It additionally offers the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program. Its physical education department offers programs in various areas, such as aquatics, strength training, individual and team sports, and dance and aerobics. The athletic programs offered by the school includes baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, wrestling, swimming, diving, tennis, and track and field. The school is approved by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. The school also serves as an off-campus location for the Omaha, Nebraska Metropolitan Community College.
