Gates Intermediate School, located in Scituate, Mass., is a high school preparatory academic institution, and part of Scituate School District. It encourages students to improve the basic skills they have developed in elementary school, and explore new talent. it offers classes in grades seven and eight and enrolls more than 550 students. Its courses include science, mathematics, English, social studies, physical education and health. These courses are augments by cocurricular subjects, including art, music, computers, dance and some career education. Its library media center program is designed to meet the challenges that students face as they become effective users of ideas and information. Gates Intermediate School offers various sports, including basketball, soccer, cheerleading and volleyball.
