A small school located on South Main Street, Johnson Elementary welcomes around 250 students through its doors each morning, according to the Massachussetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. With 16 teachers lending their talents to the classroom, the student-teacher ratio reaches about 15.4 to one. Johnson hosts a wide variety of arts programs throughout the year, including dance, writing and science.
Founded in 2004, The Tobin School is a private educational institution that provides instruction for children in preschool through fifth grade. The curriculum includes a mix of academics, art, physical education and visual arts. Children enjoy field trips and yoga and music classes. The school has numerous facilities, including a full size eat-in-kitchen, two playgrounds, a large turf field, a garden center, science area and art studio.
Wellesley Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1945 and is dedicated to the education of young children. There are numerous programs to chose from based on the age of the child and hours made available. Programs include Play and Sing, Junior, Senior, afternoon, extended day, and summer programs. All of these offer a wide range of activities and learning for children.
The red brick Temple Israel of Natick sits proudly on Hartford Street. Ground-to-ceiling windows in portion of the temple allow plenty of light and cheeriness to enter for Shabbat services. Temple Israel hosts Friday night services and youth services, as well as child and adult education courses. The community has the opportunity to participate in the adopt-a-family program to raise money for survivors of attacks in Israel.
Crossroads School specializes in helping children with autism acquire the academic, social, vocational, and skills of daily living necessary to achieve their highest level of independence possible as adults, as well as to make available support and education to their families. Crossroads School is an option for students with severely challenging behaviors that may preclude them from inclusion in public school environments.
