Walsh Middle School is a part of Framingham Public Schools and enrolls students in grades six through eight. It offers various subjects, including biology, chemistry, English, foreign languages, mathematics, physics and social studies. The school also provides a variety of intramural sports programs, such as football, soccer, cross country, track, basketball, football and softball. In addition, the school offers various extracurricular activities and clubs, including art, games, math, ski, homework, yearbook, newspaper and drama clubs, talent shows, jazz ensemble and a student council. Marian High School is a Catholic coeducational high school near downtown Framingham. Marian has 280 students. Ninety-eight percent of the students go on to college. Paul F. Barbieri Elementary School was originally a middle school. Named for a Framingham educator, Barbieri is a a two-way bilingual elementary school on the southside of Framingham, near Cushing Park. Dr. Susan McGilvray-Rivet is the principal of Barbieri Elementary.
 
In the 2009-10 school year, 66% of the school was Hispanic. About 10 percent of the students receive special needs services. Barbieri is a Title 1 school. Barbieri elementary has an active PTO. Meetings typically are held the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm in the school's library. The PTO provides free child care and Spanish translation for the meetings.

Walden School is a learning center for the deaf located near downtown Framingham. It is a non-profit organization that educates and treats deaf children from the ages of 8 to 21. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Board, as well as the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Board. The staff is over 50 percent deaf and exceptionally skilled in American Sign Language. Its goals are to enable deaf children to function in home and school environments, and help them to be able to fit into society seamlessly.

The Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni, or IAFSA, is a non-profit self governed organization that has been in operation since 1874.  IAFSA receives and distributes scholarships, awards and no-interest loans to students enrolled at Framingham State University. 

Funding is the product of donations, bequests and the rental of the Alumni House, which is maintained by IAFSA and can be rented for business and family functions.

Framingham Public Schools currently uses school choice. McCarthy is located near downtown Framingham and across the street from Fuller Middle School on Flagg Drive. The school's hours are earlier than the other Framingham Public schools elementary schools at 8:15am to 2:15pm.

It is known as the "Literary Arts" School. The school published a student literary magazine, holds monthly book swaps, and the PTO distributes two free books to all students. Students in grades k-5 participate in a Book It! Reading Incentive Program and students in grades 4-5 participate in the Massachusetts Book Awards program.

The School's Principal is Matt Hanlon. McCarthy Elementary is a Title 1 school. The school has several services for students including: SAGE, ABA therapy, occupational and physical therapy, speech therapy, and other special education services. About one in every three students receives special education services.

Originally McCarthy was the Warren Oaks School (1952), named after two neighboring streets. in 1969, the community re-named the school to Miriam F. McCarthy,  after its first principal (1952 - 1969.)

McCarthy Elementary has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School and a State Compass School.

McCarthy Elementary has a very active PTO, which holds a very popular Pumpkin Fair every October. The PTO also holds two Book Bingos, a popular Monster Mash dance, and an interactive Math Night, and several other events. PTO Meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the school caf. The PTO provides FREE babysitting for the meetings.

The YMCA offers an after-care program on site, for an additional fee.

Built in the 1960s, Hemenway Elementary is named after Framingham's first school headmaster, Deacon Joshua Hemenway.

Located in the Nobscot section of Framingham, Hemenway Elementary's focus is a multiple intelligence school. Teachers have taken courses on and studied Howard Gardner's 1983 multiple intelligence theory and incorporated his theories in its teachings.

Framingham Public Schools currently allow school choice among elementary schools.

Hemenway Elementary Principal is Lucia Laguarda. The school houses a couple of special needs programs. About one in every five students receives special-education services.

PTO meetings are usually on the first Thursday of each month in the school library. The PTO funds many programs and hosts popular  game and Dr. Seuss nights.

Named after Potter Road, Potter Road Elementary School was built in 1969. The school's mascot is the Panthers. Located on the north side of town, The school's motto is the school of lifelong learners. Potter Road Elementary has a Portuguese Bilingual Program for grades K-4. For about one in every three students at Potter Road Elementary, English is not the first language.

The elementary school, headed by Principal Paula DelPrete, participated in the National Geography Bee program.

The Potter Road PTO meets the second Wednesday night of every month. Meetings start at 7:15pm. The active PTO runs a Pumpkin Fair in the fall.

The Mary E. Stapleton Elementary Schools is a Framingham Public School, located in the Saxonville section of  town. (The school was once called the Saxonville School.) The Framingham Public Schools currently uses school choice when selecting an elementary school.

Mary E. Stapleton Elementary School is named for a former school principal and school board member, who gave more than 50 years of service to the schools. The school was renamed in 1980.

Stapleton is known as  the environmental school, in part because staff use the Carol Getchell Nature Trail near the school and along the Sudbury River.

The school has an active PTO, which organized its own morning before-care program and holds a popular ice cream social event and an annual pancake breakfast.
