Founded in 1956 as a ministry outreach of First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, Westminster Preschool offers two-, three- and four-day programs for children ages 2 1/2 through kindergarten. The school's mission is to provide a Christian environment for age-appropriate education that balances "free-play" and structured learning. In addition to building a strong foundation for reading and math, the school offers music programs for all ages and gym classes for children ages 4 years old and older. Westminster welcomes children of all faiths and is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Abraham Lincoln Elementary, founded in 1962, serves school children from kindergarden through 5th grade. Lincoln Elementary prides itself on its connection to students and parents. After-school programs are available for students who need help with homework, and students are encouraged to participate in school clubs that focus on good communication and environmental stewardship.
Founded in 1961, Montessori Academy of Glen Ellyn is the oldest Montessori school in DuPage County. The school offers classes and tutoring for young children, from toddlers to sixth graders, under the guidance, warmth and infectious enthusiasm of Director Annie Carlson.
One of the highlights of this academy is the 1.5-acre yard and school garden, which provides students an opportunity to learn gardening and cooking, as they make dishes such as summer squash muffins and cold gazpacho soup.
In addition to Glen Ellyn, School District 89 also serves parts of Lombard and Wheaton. Located at the corner of Butterfield Road and Park Avenue, District 89 comprises three kindergarden through fifth grade elementary schools, one pre-kindergarden through fifth grade elementary school, and one sixth though eighth grade middle school. District 89's teaching staff has an average of 14 years experience and more than 65 percent of the teaching staff has a master's degree or higher education.
Park View Elementary, founded in 1966 and located on Park Boulevard, is one of four elementary schools located in School District 89. Park View Elementary boasts high student and parent participation. Students have many ways to get involved including Art Club, Panther Pals and an intramural basketball league.
The Ark Preschool was established in 1971 and is sponsored by Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church as an outreach to the community. The school offers two-, three- and four-day programs for children ages nearly 3 to 5 years old and seeks to foster all aspects of a child's development through storytelling, art, music, movement and dramatic play centered around a variety of daily and weekly themes. In the church's education wing, at the corner of Hawthorne Boulevard and Kenilworth Avenue, the school admits any fully toilet-trained child who turns three by the end of December.
