Algonquin Middle School is part of District 62 and shares a campus with Forest Elementary School and the administration center. It offers drama, music, computer and physical education classes, among others, as well as general education courses.
Forest Elementary School serves as an educational safe haven to about 450 students in grades pre-K to fifth. The school provides bilingual education to Spanish-speaking students as well. Most Forest students advance to Algonquin Middle School when they reach sixth grade.
The Willows Academy is an all-girls school for students in grades 6-12. This institution has a college preparatory curriculum and follows the Catholic tradition. The school offers ACT prep, various AP classes and college counseling, as well as classes in literature, computer applications, philosophy, history and math. There is a wide selection of athletics, clubs and organizations for students to join as well. This school is part of the Alliance for Character in Education.
South Elementary is part of Community Consolidated School District 62 and has served the Des Plaines community for more than eight decades. Its has classes for preschool through 5th grade.
Established in 2004, Jethro Healthcare School offers programs to licensed students in the medical field as dialysis technicians, nursing assistants, pharmacy technicians, phlebotomists, medical translators and more. For the last four years, its students have earned a 90 percent board exam rating score. The small classroom setting of 10 - 15 students per class makes for intimate instruction.
Apollo School serves students in kindergarten through the sixth grade and is a part of the East Maine School District 63. The green, lush campus hosts a baseball field, a full park and playground area, and a large basketball court with many hoops so everyone can enjoy. At Apollo, teachers and administrators try to use positive reinforcement through their Bulldog Be's program, which encourages students to be respectful, be responsible and be peaceful. Students in kindergarten through the fifth grade can win prizes and privileges by following this code, and sixth graders celebrate as a group. Twice a month, students participate in assemblies that teach lessons in utilizing these tactics in everyday life. Since 1983, Kiddie Junction has offered day care to the community. This large, secure and colorful facility accommodates all children from newborns to middle schoolers and provides bus service to and from the school. The staff strives to ensure that your child receives quality care and education from a variety of techniques and field trips offered by the licensed teachers.
