The Allwriter's Workplace and Workshop is a unique workshop and school that is all about the writer. It offers coaching, online classes and on-site classes, editing services, workshops and more. It has a team of teachers, many who have advanced degrees in creative writing, that serve on its faculty. It also features events, such as the popular Celebrity Saturday, where successful authors talk about their craft.
Banting Elementary School is the only school in the Waukesha School District to offer a full dual language school. In its second year, the dual language program is designed to have all of its students fluent in both Spanish and English by the completion of the fifth grade. The program is currently offered in kindergarten and first grade with plans to expand it by one each school year.
Waukesha South High School is the oldest high school in the Waukesha School District and also possesses the most diverse student population. The school serves students who attended Central Middle School and Horning Middle School. Some students and faculty call South "Harvard on the hill" as a boast about academic achievements and the school's location on top of a large hill on East Roberta Avenue.
Blair Elementary School is one of the smaller schools in the Waukesha School District. It offers a variety of school activities and educational programs for its kindergarten through fifth grade students. The school also has one of the most diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in the district. Students who attend here will go onto Butler Middle School.
Hadfield Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Students who graduate from the school will go onto attend either Central Middle School or Horning Middle School.
The White House of Music is a family owed, full-line music store that has been a part of Waukesha since 1953. The store deals in new and used instruments and equipment for sale or rent. It also offers music lessons for most instruments, carries many accessories, and provides repair services.
The motto of the store's current owner, Chris White, is, "Music for Life." Manager Don Hausen states, "We're all from the area and feel that the music and education we provide fit the community well."
The Waukesha Catholic School System offers kindergarten through eighth grade education. Students are split between St. Mary Campus, St. William and St. Joe's Campus. The system was founded in 1990 in an effort to bring the three parishes and schools together.
St. Joe's Campus serves sixth grade through eighth grade in the Waukesha Catholic School System. Students at the school do various community outreach activities. The school also offers rigorous curriculum and weekly mass.
Mt. Calvary has a contemporary service at 5pm the first Saturday of the month. Bible studies are held each Sunday morning at 9:15am, between the two services that are held at 8am and 10:30am.
The school serves children from preschool through eighth grade. Timothy Kassulke is the principal.
Founded in 1921 and serving the Waukesha community since with faith and outreach, St. Luke's Lutheran is located near downtown, next to the Waukesha Public Library. Along with regular services on Saturday and Sunday, St. Luke's offers ministries for children, youth/teens and young and older adults to reach out to its neighbors on a local, national and even global scale. St. Luke's connection to the community is also expressed through the fine arts, and its ministry has invited other arts groups to perform in its worship space. In addition, St. Luke's provides day care and preschool services within its facilities.
This is a non-profit children's edu-care facility located just off the parking lot of ProHealth Care's Waukesha Memorial Hopsital. ProHealth Care employees receive a 10 percent discount. The school cares for infants and toddlers and has preschool and pre-K. Children 6 weeks to 12 years of age are accepted and are taught and cared for by a staff of 10 professionals.
Sharon Anderson is the director for the child-care facility that is located near highways 18 and 164.
All About Learning enrolls infants, pre-school and school children. Students have the opportunity to attend field trips. The school also has a fitness area complete with indoor slides and a ball pit.
Located on the far southwest side of the Waukesha School District, Waukesha West High School is the newest high school in the district. The school is known for its high academic achievements and extracurricular activities. The school's varsity football team is the reigning WIAA Division 1 champion and its Academic Decathlon squad has won state nine years in a row and places in the top three at the national competition annually.
Spring City Aviation handles charter services, aircraft rentals and brokering, discovery flights, personalized flight instruction and more at the Waukesha County Airport. This is one of the 10 largest flight schools in Wisconsin and trains pilots to a level exceeding the standard. SCA is owned by Wisconsin native Brian Behrens.
