A special-admissions institution, Lankenau is a high school located in Upper Roxborough within the School District of Philadelphia. Any student from the district may apply. Lankenau is a goal-focused school geared toward getting its students into colleges. In addition to boasting a 90 percent attendance rate, Lankenau students score nearly double on standardized tests compared to city counterparts. Jacqueline M. Bentley is the principal.
Henry H. Houston School offers its students a variety of programs. The school has two kindergarten classrooms, 19 grade school classes, resource rooms, an emotional support classroom and learning support classes, according to the school's website.
This establishment serves students from an area that is roughly bordered to the north by Mermaid Lane, to the west by McCallum Street, to the south by Gorgas Lane and to the east by Stenton Street. Most students then enter Germantown High School.

Eleanor C. Emlen School is an elementary school in Mount Airy. Students come to the school if they live in the geographical area bordered by East Gorgas Lane to the north, Germantown Avenue to the west, Blakemore Street to the east and East Tulpehocken Street to the south. The school has a garden club, which plants next to the school of off East Upsal Street. Students later feed into Roosevelt Middle School and AMY Northwest.
Anna L. Lingelbach School is close to the border between Germantown and Mount Airy. It serves students in grades K-8.
Students from an area roughly encompassed by Hortter Street to the north, Wissahickon Avenue to the west, Chelten Avenue to the south and Germantown Avenue to the east attend the school.
The school feeds into Germantown High School. The Mount Airy Schools Committee and the Unitarian Society of Germantown help provide support to the school in a variety of ways.
