A crown jewel of the Parkland School District, the expansive Parkland High School sits on a bucolic, 128-acre site off N. Cedar Crest Boulevard. It is the district's only high school, serving about 3,200 students in grades 9 to 12 with a strong academic program. A green house, theaters, visual arts studios, an electronic music lab and a TV production studio are among its features. Also, each of its 102 classrooms is equipped with interactive teaching technology. The athletic amenities are many: an eight-lane swimming pool, tennis courts, 10 practice fields, regulation basketball courses, running track and lighted fields for baseball, softball, soccer and field hockey.
Datzyk Montessori School teaches youngsters according to the principals and methods of Maria Montessori, a doctor who believed children learn best by doing, not passively accepting other people's knowledge as their own. Ruth Datzyk, a former public school teacher who studied the Montessori method for self-directed activities, founded the Datzyk Montessori School in 1968. She had been unsatisfied with her options for her toddler's education and followed her dream of establishing a nursery school and kindergarten in the first floor of her home. Classes are offered September to June and nine weeks in summer.

Salisbury Township School District covers an 11.3 square mile area outside the city of Allentown. With approximately 1,800 students, Salisbury is one of the smallest school districts in Lehigh County. The district operates two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. The Administration Building houses the offices of the superintendent, assistant superintendent and other administrators. Public meetings of the nine-member school board are held in the board room at 7:30 p.m. the Wednesday after the second Friday of the month.
