Uceda is an international organization dedicated to teaching English as a second language (ESL) to its clients.
Like other Uceda Institute locations, the Port Chester office caters to international students and recent immigrants who wish to learn English, or to improve on a limited understanding of the language.
Uceda's classroom instruction blends traditional language-learning exercises with classroom time dedicated to practical applications like conversational English. In addition, students can sign up for additional one-on-one tutoring at no extra charge.
Founded by renowned violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman and his wife Toby Perlman, the Perlman Music Program began in 1993 as a two-week summer session for young, gifted string players. Sessions were held at a rented camp site at Boys' Harbor in East Hampton. In 2000, the school relocated to a 28-acre former rustic resort on Shelter Island. It is now populated each summer by a world-class staff and music students of rare and special talent, ages 12 to 30. The students play the violin, viola, cello, bass and piano, and come from all over the world to attend this intensive training program. The Perlmans strive to provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment, one that can adapt to the needs of each individual student.
The hilltop campus, overlooking Gardiners Bay, has large buildings for dorms and a dining hall, tiny cabins used for practice rooms and bungalows for faculty housing. A large tent for performances is located in the middle of the campus. Programs include a six-week Summer Music School, a two-and-a-half week Chamber Music Workshop and the New York City Yearlong Mentorship program.
Kidville offers a variety of classes and programs for kids and also hosts birthday parties and open playtime. Classes are offered for ages 0 - 6 years and include art, gym, music, dance and enrichment programs as well as several camps. Kidville hosts birthday parties with such theme options as Jumpin' Gym, Dino-Mite, Fairy Princess, Crafty Creations and Glamour Girl.
Defensive driving instructor, Bob Fogel, offers classes with no formal testing required. Classes are available in one six-hour long session, or split into two three-hour sessions. Attendance will qualify you for a reduction in insurance rates, as well as a point reduction.
The Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison program provides college education, life skills and re-entry support to men and women who are in jail. The program helps individuals,and their families and reduces repeat incarceration rates. Hudson Link has had an average of more than 20 graduates each year since 2005. The organization's office is located in a professional building on Spring Street along with other businesses such as Mary Murphy & Co. and the Christian Science Reading Room.
Located on Myrtle Avenue just west of Fort Greene Park, Fort Greene Snap is an organization that aims "to provide to low and moderate income residents, in and near Fort Greene, access to gainful employment, further education, and quality health care by offering programs in technology, entrepreneurship and life skills." Brooklyn Guitar School is located near the corner of Fourth Avenue and St. Marks Place. The location offers a stage and performance space. Guitar classes are offered for beginners, intermediates, and lead guitarists. Each class is limited to six students. Private lessons are also available.

International School of Brooklyn provides French and Spanish immersion for elementary school students throughout the New York City area. The preschool program provides instruction in the target language, with the elementary classes split between English and the target langauge.

Soundview Sports is a sports instruction program located on the campus of Manhattanville College. Hidden Lake Farm Riding School is located along Route 48 in Southold. The large red indoor riding arena is easily visible from the road, as are the large pastures filled with horses. Whether it's show season or hunt season, Hidden Lake Farm Riding School is always busy. Longtime owner Jackie Bittner takes pride in her horses and her riding school. Indoor boarding is also offered.
