Brain Balance Center is an individualized and comprehensive approach to helping children with neurobehavioral and learning difficulties surmount their unique challenges. Brain Balance works with children who suffer with ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Tourette's, Asperger's and Austism spectrum disorders. It is a non-medical program. It helps with academic performance, social abilities, cognitive function and other skills.
While They're Little offers the internationally known Music Together program, a music class for children newborn through age five - and the grown-ups who love them. Its classes meet for 45 minutes once a week and in each class the families sing, dance and play with basic musical instruments. Parent involvement is crucial to musical development in young children so in a Music Together class, everyone sings and everyone plays - making for a very fun environment. While They're Little offers Music Together classes in several locations on Long Island. Rockville Centre classes are held at iSchool of Music & Art.
Named after a former president of the Board of Education, Wilson Elementary School serves grades kindergarten through fifth. It offers a band and orchestra program, and fifth graders must participate in a health and wellness initiative. Wilson provides special services to students with a psychiatrist and social worker on premises. The principal is Thomas Ricupero.
Hewitt Elementary School opened its doors in the Old Canterbury section of Rockville Centre in 1928 and was named after Jennie Hewitt, a beloved first-grade teacher. It serves grades kindergarten through fifth and the school day begins at 8:50 a.m. and ends at 3:26 p.m. Children who live more than 8/10 of a mile from the campus receive busing and the school offers a music program, as well as a reading and math support initiative. It also is one of few schools in the county to receive a GreatSchools rating of 9 out of 10.
The Children's Athletic Training School (CATS) is an indoor facility offering young children a variety of activities including soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, golf, football, a rock climbing wall and more. The space is also available are private birthday parties, gym rentals and yoga classes for adults only.
School offers music programs including private lessons, NYSSMA tutoring, rock/folk bands and summer rock and music video camps for students of all ages and skill levels. iSchool features a family friendly environment with quality resources and scholarships for students. Music specialties here include piano, voice, guitar, drums, woodwinds and strings. Students here have the opportunity to perform in solo recitals, rock concerts and outdoor festivals. iSchool is owned and operated by Ken and Yi with additional locations in Syosset and Rockville Centre as well.
