Team Academy Charter School is a member of the KIPP network, which is a network of college prep public schools whose mission is to prepare children in lower-income communities for college and life. The academy offers a rigorous college prep program designed to instill critical thinking and decision making, as well as an interest in learning. In addition to the academic program, the school also offers extra curricular activities, such as student council, yearbook, band, chorus, dance, drama, art, computer science, badminton, track, basketball, baseball, football, cheerleading and soccer. The school is headed by Shawadeim Reagans.
The Giving Nest Preschool is a childcare and preschool facility that offers educational and recreational activities for children ages two-and-a-half through four. Both half and full-day classes are available, as well as early-morning and late-afternoon extended care services. Children can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and can be picked up as late as 6pm.
RISE Academy is a TEAM School, part of a network run by KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) in Newark. Serving African-American and Latino students in low-income communities, the school aims to prove that students of all backgrounds can succeed academically. Some 85 percent of the students qualify for free or subsidized school lunches and 14 percent have special needs. The school prides itself on working with students who start out below grade level in reading and math, but after a few years are achieving at above-average levels compared to their peers in Newark and across New Jersey. Ninety percent of the students go on to college.
Founded in 1933, the Adult School offers classes ranging from practical to imaginative. They have single and multiple session classes. One example of a previous practical class was the five-session class, "Basic Accounting for Non-finance People." Previous creative classes include "Mixed Media and Illustrative Drawing" and "Water Color Painting." They also have multiple language classes including Spanish, French, Italian and more.
Most classes are held at Columbia High School (CHS) and South Orange Middle School. The main office is in the A-wing of CHS. Some art classes are held at private studios in South Orange and Maplewood but they are open to people from all over the region.
There are over 150 classes in the spring, summer and fall for adults and teens 14 and up.
The other two major programs of the Adult School are:
* A free ESL and GED-prep program. Classes are held at CHS and the Hilton Branch of the Maplewood Library. Five hundred people from 45 countries typically enroll.
* A four-week children's camp is offered each summer. Staff members are district teachers who offer creative and academic enrichment courses. Financial aid is available.
Holy Family Church is a Catholic congregation led by Monsignor Paul. The church holds services every day with an increased schedule on Sundays. A variety of other services are offered including religious education, sacrament education and planning and ministries.
The Mile Square Theatre is a Hoboken theater company using the Monroe Center space. It seeks to promote the theatre arts in Hoboken and Hudson County, presenting new works and classic dramas in addition to hosting community-based projects, school residencies and classes. It's Sew Crafty is a new and exciting way to learn the art and craft of sewing and fiber arts. We offer a wide array of classes that cater to your individual needs and sewing experience. Crafty Katie is a professional fiber artist and sewing instructor.

The Edward V. Walton School teaches students in pre-K classes through second grade. The school emphasizes hands-on learning in the classroom, helping students learn language literacy, mathematics, science and social studies in an active way.
The Walton Parent Teacher Association plans educational activities and assemblies for students throughout the school year to support the curriculum. It also takes part in fundraising efforts.
Transportation is provided for handicapped students and students who live two miles or more from Walton School.

Kidville is a large, upscale recreational facility designed for children. It features a safe and fun play area, offering age-appropriate art, music, gym and enrichment classes in for newborns and children up to age six. Kidville also offers birthday parties for children up to the age of nine, summer camp programs, a pre-school alternative program and other seasonal family events.

Page Academy is a preschool providing educational programs to children about to enter kindergarten. Instruction is aimed at acclimating children to classroom settings, teaching children foundational skills and engaging children in social, explorational play.
McKinley Elementary School serves grades Pre-K to 8 in the Newark Public School District. It is headed by Principal Carolyn Granato and holds just over 900 students.
Little Angels Nursery School is a brightly colored, lively nursey school located on Washington Avenue in Nutley. It offers child care to children from infant age through five years old. Its curriculum stresses the importance of both social and educational growth. Little Angels has a variety of seasonal themes and concentrates on a different letter of the alphabet each week.
