The School of Metaphysics is a learning center open to the public. Students are taught the relationship between mind and matter and how they can live an enlightened life. The building is located in a cul-de-sac off of Frontage Road with plenty of free street parking.
Oak View Elementary School, located off North Schmidt Road, is a Valley View School District elementary school that provides public education for children from kindergarden to fifth grade.
The school was founded in 1972 but rebuilt in 1987 after a devestating fire destroyed the original building. In fact, the westernmost wall in the principal's office remains as the only original wall from the fire. The wall survived because of its stone structure.
The school has a friendly staff and runs a number of student clubs and organizations students can join.
Founded on September 15th, 2008, Creative Children's Preschool provides a safe environment while meeting the physical, intellectual and personal needs of children. Children from the age of six weeks up to 12 years old are accepted.
Wood View Elementary School is a Valley View School District elementary school located off Winston Drive, across the street from Winston Woods Park. The school educates children from kindergarten to fifth grade and has more than 500 students. Its runs the Coyote Club, a before and after-school childcare program.
Located in the middle of Bolingbrook's Central Park, Bernard Ward Elementary School provides a friendly atmosphere for its students. Traditionally one of the most underfunded schools in the area, Bernard Ward Elementary has continually given back to the community and cared for those in need. The school, which educates children from kindergarden to fifth grade, has been part of the community since 1975 and has tons of green park space for its children to find recreation.
Furqaan Academy combines the state's education curriculum with Islamic history, heritage and values. Upon graduating 12th grade, Furqaan students are proficient in speaking, reading and writing in Arabic, and have knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah.
Panther Pal Club is a before and after school program run through the Oak View Elementary School located off Schmidt Road. Children can be dropped off as early as 6:45 a.m., and be picked-up no later than 6:00 p.m. The club is run by the school's PTO.
Jonas E. Salk Elementary School is a Valley View School District elementary school located on King Arthur Way near Bolingbrook's city park. The school educates children from kindergarten through fifth grade. Founded in 1977, the school offers a variety of student clubs, both before and after school, and operates a website with information available on the curriculum and upcoming events. The school also has a playground and offers a bilingual program.
Allegro Academy has grown to three locations since its opening in 1962 in Lockport, Ill. Its success is largely attributed to its ability to specialize the program to the wishes of the student whether in music or dance. Group or private instructions are available.
