This is one of several campuses in the area for DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management. The school offers degrees in business administration, accounting and financial management, project management, human resources management, public administration, network and communications management and information technology management. Graduate certificates are also offered in entrepreneurship. A computer lab and a lounge with vending machines are available to students.
FasTrackids, founded by Joe and Kippi Flanders in 2003, provides a congenial, family-oriented and technology-equipped environment to foster learning. The programs are geared to develop school and life readiness skills such as creativity, communication and critical thinking for children ranging from 3 through 7 years. Each classroom is comprised of a certified teacher and an assistant teacher for no more than 14 students.
When there is a problem at any of the 60 public schools in the northern part of the county, the men and women at the North Yard answer. A crew of 60 keeps light bulbs changed, broken tiles replaced, the plumbing flowing, and the A/C at the right temperature.
Learning Styles Tutoring provides tutors for K-12 and college students. Owner Joan Mason, herself a teacher for 20 years, has assembled a group of teachers and former teachers to tutor students on every subject. The service also tutors for students with ADD/ADHD and dyslexia. It also has home schooling services.
Mathnasium is a highly specialized learning center where kids can go after school to boost their math skills. They teach only math, from 2nd grade to SAT I. Like at a gym or health club, members can attend at their convenience. Your child will receive a comprehensive written and oral evaluation, followed by a customized program to meet his or her unique needs. Then, your child's progress will be evaluated with standardized assessments.
Off Broadway Children's Theatre/Off Broadway Dance Theatre is a family-owned and operated theater. Classes are offered in dance, music and acting. It offers instruction to students between the age of 3 and 18 and encourages students to explore the many facets of performing arts. It also produces 8 full productions per year for its black box theatre. Classes include acting, creative drama, improv, musical theatre, ballet, contemporary dance, hip hop, jazz, tap, voice, guitar, piano and flute.
St. Aidan's Episcopal Church is named in remembrance of St. Aidan of Ferns, a sixth-century Celtic missionary saint whose prayers are believed to be responsible for God allowing the Britons to defeat the Saxons. The church celebrates St. Aidans of Ferns feast day on January 31.
St. Aidan's Episcopal Church is active within the community and has a vibrant youth group. It also runs a preschool.
A Success Academics provides tutoring in the student's home or a central location. It tutors K-12 and junior college students in English, chemistry, science, computers, mathematics, physics and foriegn languages. Test preparation and parental counseling is also available.
Out of the box is a complete art studio catering to both children and adults. From the outside through the dark windows it can be difficult to see the colorful and diverse art studios inside. Entering Creek View Elementary School, the first person encountered might be one of the many parent volunteers who help out during regular school hours. Volunteers must go to school for training, too, though classroom readers don't need the class. The PTA is actively involved at Creek View, helping with blood drives, fund raisers and other activities at the school. Like most of today's schools, Creek View is a single-story building, making all parts accessible. Standardized test scores for students continue to exceed national, state and county averages. In 2009-2010, it was the only elementary school to produce a Shakespeare performance. Nearby Alpharetta High provides students who serve as peer facilitators, mentors and tutors.
We Wonder Preschool was established in 1987 as part of Midway United Methodist Church. It accepts students from infant through pre-Kindergarten ages. All classes are for a half-day with an optional lunch provided. We Wonder provides an environment for learning and play, including a large playground and gym. It also offers a a service called FunKidz where elementary school students can stay before and after school.
