Splat Art Studio on North Colony Road was started by Kate McNamee to help others explore the artist within themselves. Her love for creating things started at a very young age, and she enjoys passing along her knowledge to others so that they too can get their creative juices flowing and create something beautiful. There are classes for all age groups and interests. Splat Art Studio also hosts events and ladies nights.
High Road Student Learning Center is a Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) property. The Wallingford campus is on Village Lane, and is one of two Connecticut locations serving children in primary grades through high school who have learning, language or social impairment or difficulties. The other SESI site is in Hartford.
Music lessons are provided to children by Sandie and Joanna Petrulis in a friendly, well-lit studio where the child always comes first. Keys & Strings Music Studio offers music instruction for the viola, violin and piano. There are also various workshops available and yearly recitals.
With its large classrooms and extra generous outdoor space, Building Blocks Learning Center offers its children an excellent balance of an educational curriculum inside and creative, physical play outside.
Programs begin with the infangs, children ages 6 weeks-13 months old, where the children are exposed to music, story time, gross motor activities and one on one interaction.
The toddler program (ages 13 months to 3 years) focuses on building the childrens social and verbal skills through weekly themed programs, show and tell, sign language and free play.
In preschool (ages 3-5) the curriculum revolves around hands on activities, as well as science, language, social studies and math, preparing them for the next step of Kindergarten. Activities such as gymnastics, karate are also offered, as well as field trips for the 4 years olds.
Building Blocks also provides a full day Kindergarten program exposing children to science, social studies, math, reading, language, field trips, computers and reading all in preparation for first grade.
For the school aged children, the Center has a library/media center featuring books, educational videos, and computer access. There are also areas set aside for homework and outside time.

Choate Rosemary Hall is an academically acclaimed and prestigious secondary school, located on more than 400 acres in the heart of Wallingford. Located in a new facility close to Interstate 91 and Route 68, yet set back from the main road, Creative Beginnings provides year-round care for infants through school-aged children with both full- and part-time enrollment options. The Center prides itself on experienced, trained staff members who are additionally trained in CPR and first aid safety.
While parents may love the curriculum inside the classroom, the children will flip over the state-of-the-art playscapes and outdoor area complete with slides, jungle-gyms, a sandbox and plenty of space to run free. The school also offers extra-curricular activities including gymnastics in eight-week sessions.
New England Dive, on North Colony Rd. in Wallingford, offers dive instruction services. It also provides classes for all levels of scuba certifications, safety, specialty and dive vacations. In addition, its showroom stocks some of the latest dive equipment and accessories.
This family run business has been in Wallingford since before 1990, teaching diving. It also performs underwater pool patching and repair services to the community.
Little Zion Preschool is located on the beautiful, spacious grounds of the Zion Lutheran Church. Also sponsored by the church, this private preschool offers an educational program for children ages 3-5 years old that focuses on intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development.
The school offers several programs including one for 3-year olds centering on pre-writing skills, reading, crafts, music, socialization, religious time, outdoor play and science activities. Extra activities include events such as Pajama Day and a Barn Dance.
The 4-year old program works towards the goal of Kindergarten readiness with music, religious time, crafts, and introduction to numbers and letters. Extra activities include events such as Teddy Bear Day and a Pow-Wow.
The school also offers a pre-Kindergarten program focusing on Kindergarten readiness for those children who need an extra year of preschool before moving on and an optional "Puddle Duck" science program that meets twice a week.

The Paul Mellon Arts Center, located on the campus of Choate Rosemary Hall, was designed by architect I.M. Pei. Among the marvels it houses are state-of-the-art studios for various mediums, film studios and photography darkrooms, a recital hall and an 800-seat theatre with a proscenium (archway) stage.
Performances, both guest and student productions, and exhibitions are held regularly. For schedule and ticket information, the box office is open from 1pm - 4pm daily.
Handicapped seating is available and must be reserved through the box office.
Located in the Signature 91 Building on Thorpe Avenue, the Pearson Professional Centers are part of the international Pearson Vue Test Center Network. The Wallingford location is one of 250 Pearson Professional Centers in the United States. The facility serves as a high-stakes testing center for those pursuing higher educations, certifications and licenses. For example, Graduate Management Admission Tests (GMAT) are given at the Wallingford location. The center has been in business at this Wallingford site since 2002.
Founded by Sue Murphy, The Artists' Loft is a non-profit studio where students can develop their artistic abilities while giving back to the community. Classes are available for watercolors, pastels, acrylics, colored pencils, oil crayons and charcoal. Summer camps are also offered, and donations are accepted.
