The Little Nursery School in Ellington is a nursery school for children ages 3 to 6. It has been in business since before 1990.
The teachers at the school develop age-appropriate activities that introduce and strengthen academic and social skills. There is academic curriculum like science, social science, music, letter books, and phonics. There is also curriculum to work with fine motor skills, large motor skills, and sensory skills. The children have music and gym lessons, and also have plenty of time to play. Extended day care is available.
Center School is located in the center of Ellington and is one of the three elementary schools in town.
At Center School, there is involvement with the community in the form of community service. Such service includes creating baskets for Thanksgiving for Ellington families and running a coat drive.
Presentations such as "Parenting with Love and Logic" and "Raising Readers Club" are held at Center School and also at the Hall Memorial Library.
The PTO at Center School also brings special guests to the school for various programs.
