Porter and Chester Institute (PCI) has been providing career training to students in many fields since 1946. The Stratford location on Lordship Boulevard is one of nine PCI campuses in CT and MA and is accredited by U.S. Department of Education. Career training programs in Stratford include automotive, computer-aided drafting, computer and network technology, electrician, electronic systems, HVAC, health specialist, dental assisting and medical assisting.
Green Moon offers children from 18 months to eight years old classes and programs in art, music and Spanish. The programs and classes are designed to develop children cognitively, socially and physically. The Westport Arts Center is a visual and performing arts organization that offers arts experiences to the entire community. The center has been in the community since the 1960s, when it was incorporated as the Westport-Weston Arts Council in 1969. Since that time, the center has worked to preserve Westport's cultural heritage and tradition of supporting the arts.
The Westport Arts Center offices and galleries are located on the banks of the Saugatuck River in downtown Westport. In addition to presenting exhibitions, concerts, lectures and film screenings in its 2000 square-foot gallery, the center also has a studio where children's workshops are held as well as a smaller Studio Gallery annex.
Since 1994, Joni's has provided high-quality child care and preschool for children in the greater Farmington Valley area. The center in Canton ocupies a beautiful pair of yellow buildings, complemented by a large outdoor play area. Jennifer Aiello is the director of this facility and her smiling face and pleasant demeanor make the children comfortable. Joni's believes in treating children with respect and teaching them manners. It has a day filled with pleasant educational activities as well as free play and nap time. Child care is available for children from 6 weeks to 1o years old.
The Porter and Chester Institute was founded in 1946 and has been located at 30 Waterchase Drive since 2006. It's an accredited technical school offering career training in automotive repair, computers, electronics, HVAC/R, administration, dental and medical assisting, and practical nursing. The institute's employment specialists will assist students in finding jobs after graduation, from help with résumés to accessing a database of employers who hire Porter and Chester graduates. All Saints Catholic School teaches more than 700 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school's curriculum meets standards for both the state and diocese and offers three classrooms per grade. Among the numerous extracurricular activities offered are intramural sports, computer club, and theater.
The Helen King Reynolds Private School focuses on the complete development of 3- and 4-year-old children – socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually. The Shirley Reaback Early Childhood Center is located in the Kol Haverim Reform Jewish Congregation facility on Hebron Avenue. It is an all-faith childhood development center that is available two to five days a week for nursery school, kindergarten, play days and extended days. Tuesday morning play groups and a six-week summer program with a themed curriculum are also available.
