First Steps Learning Center provides hands-on, nurturing daycare services for children ages 3 months to 2 ½ years. It's large, peaceful outdoor playground is surrounded by towering trees and has a grassy area for running and games, a play structure, swing set and a sandbox. It is located in the Calvary Baptist Church, but is not associated with the church.
Good Neighbor Montessori is a leading Montessori School in Palo Alto and serves children ages 2 through 6 years. Their preschool program assists children in developing self-confidence, concentration, independence and a love of learning in a developmentally appropriate Montessori classroom. Classroom activities allow the children to develop both practical and academic skills that encourage conceptual development and create a firm foundation for further learning.
Operated by Jenny and Heather Goldberg, Spork Foods offers cooking instruction and healthy eating consultation services. Cooking classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays, covering techniques for wheat-free, macrobiotic and vegan recipes. Classes are open to individuals or groups, and can be arranged for birthday and bachelorette parties. Package discounts and gift certificates are available. Jenny Goldberg was trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Culinary Arts in New York City.

Trinity Preschool is a Lutheran affiliated school that serves children ages 3 through Kindergarten. All classes last from 9 am to 12 pm and have a student-to-teacher ratio ranging from 10:1 to 18:1. There are extended day care programs available starting at 7:30 am and ending at 6 pm.
The Davis Academy Driving School, while serving seemingly everywhere in California, is a notoriously hard place to locate if you are trying to find the actual physical location. Tucked into a little niche behind the Secretariat on the corner of G Street and 4th, it is a very easy office to miss, so make sure to look hard! The office and business has been family owned and operated by Leticia Saez for almost 20 years and caters to not only Davis residents, but the surrounding areas all the way down to Stockton. It offers behind the wheel training and driver's education and is DMV-certified to do so; they are a popular pick with the younger crowd as it uses convertible Mustangs for the behind the wheel training.
This independent and co-educational school is unique in that its curriculum satisfies the requirements of both the French and American school systems.
Enrolling children in preschool through eighth grade, this school's students are expected to perform about 75 to 80 percent of schoolwork in French. The focus is to teach children leadership skills while giving them the advantages of both the French and American systems and an added bilingual edge. A child's parents need not speak French to enroll their child here, but studies are rigorous and primarily in the French language.

Building Kidz is a private preschool with a focus on the performing arts. Children — newborns through five-year-olds — receive instruction here, and are encouraged to participate in activities that help build an early foundation in music, theater and dance. Parents can choose to enroll their child either full-time or part-time. Breakfast and lunch, plus an afternoon snack, are included in the tuition cost, which ranges from about $450 to $900 a month. The teachers at Building Kidz are trained to give plenty of individual attention to each child in order to support a child's unique needs and strengths, but children also learn to work and play in groups.
Jackson Avenue Elementary School, which first opened in 1963, has undergone expansion and remodeling since it held its inaugural first day of class. In 2002, a new library and computer complex was built at the school. Construction and other upgrades on campus were completed in September 2008, which was funded by a local bond. Jackson Avenue, which has a stingray as the school mascot, is one of 12 schools in the district with an API score of 800 or higher. Its school colors are black and gold. Tammy Rankin is the school principal.
ABC Bartending School is a private trade school teaching students how to become professional mixologist. Founder and CEO, Tony Sylvester, is celebrating his 33 year in business. The third generation bartender also owns other bartending schools nationwide. This Los Alamitos location sits in the shopping strip off Katella. Students can complete the 40 hour program in one, two or three weeks, depending on their schedule. The school also offers a free lifetime refresher course for its students and free lifetime job placement assistance.
The Poppy Patch Child Care Center is tucked away inside the buildings of the Franchise Tax Board, but is open to the public. In fact, only about half of the children at the center have parents who work for the Franchise Tax Board.
Poppy Patch has three separate centers: one for infant and toddler child care, one for potty training and early preschool, and one for preschoolers.
You can find the Ice Cream & Shoe Preschool and Kindergarten at the Santa Margarita School in San Rafael. It provides a rich and fulfilling environment for children that teaches them how to learn and interact with others. Formerly known as Western Career College, Carrington College is a vocational school with a focus on allied health professions. The school offers certificates and associate degree programs in dental assisting, dental hygiene and health care administration as well as massage therapy, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technology, registered nursing, veterinary technology and vocational nursing.
Carrington College, which is a subsidiary of DeVry, Inc., also offers online programs in many other fields, such as accounting, business, criminal justice and health care management.
Mathnasium, the Math Learning Center, offers extra instruction for students from Pre-K to Pre-Calculus. The learning method is to use a personalized program for each student in a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The Campbell location of this center is situated along Winchester Blvd. and is led by Kobad Bugwadia.
