Stehouwer Frozen Foods Inc, was founded in 1951, by Oscar Stehouwer as Stehouwers Quick Fries. The intent of the company at that time was to service restaurants with French Fried Potatoes and other prepared restaurant foods including "The Beef Sizzlers".The "Beef Sizzlers" became so popular in the restaurant trade that it was introduced into the retail market area of Western Michigan in 1965. It became such a success that is was quickly asked for by the Detroit market. Sales were such that Stehouwers became a meat processing plant servicing every major grocery store in the state of Michigan with the "Beef Sizzlers". With increased sales came expansion and a federal plant inspection program. Today, Stehouwer Frozen Foods, Inc is proud to supply and service most of the Eastern states as well as Michigan.Gary Stehouwer has continued with Stehouwer Frozen Foods as a family owned business. In 1989, Gary brought his son-in-law Tim May in as Vice President.
