Established in 1917, Teachers Retirement System of the City of New York is one of the largest pension systems operating in the United States, with more than $30 billion in assets. The system provides eligible New York City educators with retirement, disability and death benefits. It offers a wide range of services, such as service retirement allowances, tax-deferred annuity participation, loans, disability coverage, and death benefits. Its TDA program provides long-term investment plans, and opportunities to invest funds in a combination of its investment programs, including fixed, variable, and annuity programs. The center also offers various loans available under its qualified pension plan and TDA program.
