Highland Marina Resort is located near the middle of beautiful West Point Lake in LaGrange, Georgia. The lake lies on a 35 mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River between Franklin and West Point Georgia. The lake has a shoreline of more than 500 miles equaling over 26, 000 acres of water surface and runs along and across the Georgia/Alabama State line. The lake is controlled by the Corps of engineers and was impounded in 1974 in order to provide flood control, hydroelectric power, navigation, fish and wildlife development, and general recreation for Southwest Georgia. West Point Lake offers an abundance of wildlife and a number of ways to enjoy it. When the lake was created, a forested valley was flooded, trees and other structures were left standing to provide excellent fish habitat. Man-made fish attractors also improve fishing at the lake. Come by the marina store Highland Marina Resort to find out where the best places to go are for fishing, cruising, skiing, or just to get away from it all on West Point Lake.
