Golden View Elementary is one of 13 elementary schools in San Ramon. The school was built in 1989 and in the Canyon Lakes area. It serves grades K-5 with approximately 597 students. The principal is Nancy White. It has a Great Schools Rating of 10 out of 10.
Gale Ranch Middle School opened in the fall of 2008 with sixth and seventh grades. In the fall of 2009, eighth grade was added. The current student population is approximately 590. The school was built to accommodate 900 students.
It is located on 15.75 acres with a total of more then 101,000 square feet. The school is split into five buildings.
The principal is Lisa Ward.
Dougherty Valley opened in 2007 with grades 9 through 10. In the school year 2008-2009, 11th grade was added; 12th grade was then added in the fall of 2009. Spring 2010 will have the first graduating class. The principal is Denise Hibbard.
First opened in 2005, Windemere Ranch Middle School is one of the eight middle schools in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. The school was designed as a state-of-the-art middle school and is equipped with five science lab classrooms, a computer and video production classroom, an arts classroom, instrumental and vocal music rooms, an advanced technology classroom, media center/library and full gym and locker room facilities for both boys and girls. Parent participation in the school's development is highly encouraged and the Parent Teacher Student Association and the Education Fund are active in supporting school programs.
It was recently named a California Distinguished School. Dave Bolin serves as Principal.
Established in 1981, Diablo Hills Country School is a family-operated preschool in a home-like setting.
With two locations, one in San Ramon and one in Danville, the school offers preschool classes for children ages 2 through 5 as well as before and after-school care.
Staples of this program include developmentally structured activities and small, home-like class rooms, low student-to-teacher ratios, hot lunches and transportation to and from local elementary schools. It is fully licensed by the state of California and has received several awards for its services, among them the PACE Child Care Center of the Year award in 2006.
Neil Armstrong Elementary School was established in 1969. The school has been recognized for achievement as a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School.

There are 540 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Home of the Eagles, the school serves the community south of Montevideo Drive and southeast of Interstate 680 in San Ramon.

Support organizations include the PTA, whose president is Vanessa Berastain, and the Neil Armstrong Academic Boosters, a volunteer group of parents who do fundraising for educational programs.
Coyote Creek Elementary School was established in 2000 as a developer-built school, one of the first schools in the state completely designed and built by a developer (Shapell Industries). The school is located on the north side of Bollinger Canyon Road. The school houses students from kindergarten to the fifth grade and has capacity for 740 students. The principal is Marsha Tokuyoshi.
Live Oak Elementary School opened in the fall of 2007 and is one of the newest San Ramon Valley Elementary School. It is located in the Dougherty Valley community of east San Ramon. It serves K - 5th grade and is one of 13 elementary schools in the San Ramon. The current enrollment is approximately 790 students and the principal is Don Loflin.
